THE STORY BEHIND BAD TUNA

Bob Viloria (aka Bad Tuna Bob) is the founder of the Bad Tuna T-shirt Co. and a local braddah from Hawaii. The inception of Bad Tuna actually started a year after May 1994. It was that day when Bob went out to catch a few waves off the pier of Huntington Beach, CA. It was a beautiful morning with waves three to four feet and glassy. On his last wave back to shore Bob had an unfortunate accident, which he sustained a major spinal cord neck injury. He was rescued by fellow surfers but was left paralyzed. After a week in ICU and months of physical therapy and determination, Bob was able to walk again and return to a normal life in a year's time. To keep his mind motivated during his early struggles, Bob worked on fine tuning his hobby and passion he developed over the years in creating cool and fun designs with a little humor and a Hawaiian twist.

In 1995, Bob started to explore the Internet with a couple of buddies and soon discovered its potential use of showcasing his artwork on t-shirts, as well as staying in touch with people who love to surf, fish or just living the island lifestyle. In 1996 the Bad Tuna T-shirt Co. was finally established on the Internet for the purpose of sharing his love and passion for the ocean and island style living.
