WAIMEA BAY

If you plan to visit Oahu for the first time, check out Waimea Bay on the North Shore. Waimea is famous for its 30-foot waves in the winter and is a top place to watch some of the world’s best and bravest surfers. During the summer, the waters are mostly calm and become a great place for swimming, snorkeling, and diving off the popular cliff known as "da rock" located near the left end of the beach. There is a "No Jumping" sign but most locals still dive there at their own risk. You can do the same or just watch the locals, which is a better option.
